Concerning the accented À:
This is a foreign character and it is essential when posting the name somewhere. Unfortunately, few promoters and graphic artists take the time to do it right and simply put either “A Rebours” or “A'Rebours.” Following is a list of how to produce the correct character, a grave accent mark over an uppercase A, in various milieu:
HTML: insert the code "À" (minus the quotes) into the document.
ASCII: when typing in any word processer or graphics program on the PC, ALT+0129 will render an À.
On MACs: use Option + ` (the button that also has the tilde on it), then Shift + the letter “a”
Press & Reviews
“À Rebours is in keeping with an old-school aesthetic, mining a vein of gold in darkest rock...Vanish should be a new Goth classic.”
Gothic Beauty, Issue 26, August 2008.
“...a seriously interesting artist worth keeping tabs on, with a constantly piquant guitar style, which is never boring or heavy-handed, and there's an exquisitely ghostly spirit ever-present.”
—Mick Mercer, in his October 19th, 2007 LiveJournal review.
“"...À Rebours actually makes cool goth music...an impressive debut from an artist to keep an eye on.”
—Dark Realms Magazine, Issue #29, Winter 2008
“Complex and beautiful with a shimmer of gloom that keeps the listener engaged and enthralled. A good album to snuggle up with your soulmate or friend-for-the-night and drink in with all its deep themes and allusions.”
—DJ Du Nord, Grave Concerns Ezine
“Gothic rock does not get much better than this.”
—DJ Deathwish, Tucson AZ.
“He's one of those guitar players that makes everyone else 'suck.' I was floored with his playing ability. Tight, incredible sound, the whole nine yards. Nice guy, too.”
—David Holton of Ashengrace, referring to an À Rebours July 1st, 2006 show. Ashengrace and À Rebours shared the stage with AcidicA and Reliquary.
“...[a] dark, rock-fueled stew...biting, fun and aware of its own pretension.”
The Star Gazette, July 2007.
“...enchanting creativity...”
Guitarlab Magazine, January 2007.
